Today we were sent the results from the Telford & Wrekin Indoor Athletics competition. We are delighted to announce our girls team finished 1st and our boys team finished 2nd out of the 25 Telford and Wrekin schools that competed in the event. This is a massive achievement for the school and we are very proud of all the hard work and effort the children put in to practise for this competition. The girls team will now represent Telford & Wrekin at the County Winter Games in March. Well done to both the boys and girls teams for this amazing set of results.
Well done to our year 5/6 girls table tennis team that reached the quarter final stage of the Shropshire county cup tonight. Unfortunately only one other girls team entered so our girls had to take part in the boys competition. This was the first time any of our team had ever taken part in a competitive table tennis match, but you would never have guessed with the amazing performances our girls put it. The girls won their first match 3-1 but narrowly lost their 2nd match to the team that eventually got to the final. This meant our girls qualified to the quarter final stage after finishing 2nd in their group. The quarter final stage was extremely close with both teams taking it in turns to be in the lead but we eventually lost 3-1. To say this match was close would be an under statement, with two of the matches being decided by a single point. This was a massive achievement considering the girls had only had one previous training session leading up to the event.
Well done to our amazing Year 5/6 indoor athletics team that competed in the Telford and Wrekin School Sports Partnership competition today. The team were up against 25 other Telford and Wrekin schools and despite a few of our children being slightly nervous beforehand, the children put in some fantastic results. All the hard work and practise really paid off today and Mr Thorpe was very impressed with the performance from the whole team. The results will be sent out by Telford and Wrekin later this week.
Well done to our Year 4/5 girls football team that competed in the Shropshire County Cup tonight. The girls were up against some tough competition in our group, playing against previous County Cup winning schools. This was the first time we have ever entered a girls team in the Shropshire County Cup and we were so impressed with the effort put in by all the girls. We narrowly lost the first match 1-0 to a very good team that dominated the game but the girls didn’t at any point look down hearted. The girls then drew the second match 0-0 with Grange Park looking the more likely to score. This meant that going into the last match a win or draw would see Grange Park qualify to the next round of the cup. Despite Grange Park absolutely dominating the final game, our opponents scored with what was nearly the last kick of the game to win the match. Once again though our girls were amazing sports and shook all of the opponents hands and came off the pitch with a smile on their faces. We showed moments of brilliance in every match and the results will soon start to follow. Keep up the hard work and practise girls.

Well done to our Year 5/6 Indoor Athletics team that won the Lakeside Partnership Indoor Athletics Championship today by an amazing 54 points. The team have been putting in a lot of hard work and practise approaching to this competition and it paid off with a fantastic team performance and result. Our team managed to win 9 out of the 10 races and finished in a very close 2nd in the other race. The team also got some fantastic scores in the field events. Special mention also to our four young school sport ambassadors that helped out throughout the night leading the speed bounce competition and then helping judge the racing. Mrs Davies the competition organiser said ‘The event ran smoothly thanks to the help from the Grange Park Sport Ambassadors and we would of struggled to get all the events done without their help’
Well done to our Year 4 girls football team that competed in their first ever competitive football match tonight against Redhill Primary School. The girls were absolutely amazing and won the match 6-0. The team have been training very hard for their first ever match and all the hard work paid off with a fantastic team perfomrance.
Keep it up girls!
