Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that today competed in the Crossbar Cup. This was the first time some of the girls had ever played in a competitive football match. Every single player was absolutely brilliant and couldn’t have given anymore than they did. Our girls played 4 matches back to back and drew two and narrowly lost two. This meant we had to play Ladygrove in a play off match and we showed great bouncebackability and determination to come from 1-0 down to be leading 2-1 with only a minute left. Unfortunately ladygrove got a freekick with only 5 seconds left and with the last kick of the game scored. This meant the game had to go to extra time. The girls really dug deep but unfortunately despite applying lots of pressure on our opponents, Ladygrove broke and scored to win the match. All the hard work the girls have put in at training really showed today with some fantastic performances. Well done girls.
