Well done to our Year 5/6 football team that tonight won 6-1 against a strong Newdale Primary School team in the last 16 of the Telford & Wrekin Cup. The boys played some great passing football again on an extremely tight Newdale pitch and thoroughly deserved their win. The boys are going from strength to strength this season and fully deserve all the credit they are receiving. We now wait anxiously to find out who we are against in the quarterfinals. Special mention to our special lucky mascot for today’s game (Pictured)
Well done to our Year 3/4 girls football team that won their first ever match tonight. The girls have improved so much this half term and all their hard work has paid off with a fantastic result against a very good Redhill team. These girls have been an absolute pleasure to coach this season and we will continue to improve each week. Well done again girls, keep up the hard work #TeamGP
Well done to the year 5/6 football team that tonight won their group to get through to the next stage of the ESFA tournament. Grange Park were in the group labelled ‘The Group of Death’ (old football saying for extremely tough group) with last weeks 6-a-side County Champions ‘Mount Pleasant’ and last years year 4/5 County Champions St Giles. The group didn’t disappoint with all 3 teams producing some stunning football.
Grange Park won their first match against Mount Pleasant 1-0 and it could of been more if it wasn’t for Mount Pleasant’s outstanding goalkeeper making 4 brilliant saves. This meant if Grange Park won their next match against last years champions St Giles they would go through. The game was end to end before Grange Park broke the deadlock with an outstanding individual goal. Just before half time St Giles had a great chance to score an equaliser but our goalkeeper pulled off one of the best saves we have ever seen, reacting to a point blank shot to it push wide. The boys continued the 2nd half how they played in the first and were eventual winners 3-0 against an extremely good team.
Both games were thoroughly enjoyable to watch tonight and our boys definitely deserved their wins. We can’t wait for the next round now
Well done to our Year 5/6 Tag Rugby team that tonight competed in the Telford and Wrekin Cup. Our team put in some amazing performances and the matches we lost were only lost by a single try. This was the first time this group had played together but it didn’t take long for them to start working as team and as you can see from the results below, they improved every game.
Grange Park 5-6 Coalbrookdale
Grange Park 4-5 St Patricks
Grange Park 4-5 Windmill
Grange Park 5-4 Coalbrookdale
Grange Park 6-0 Windmill
Well done #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that tonight won 4-0 against High Ercall Primary School. Despite our girls having most of the possession in the first half, we just couldn’t get past the High Ercall goalkeeper, who made 4 or 5 great saves. The girls came out on fire in the 2nd half and scored 2 goals early on. The girls really seemed to find their groove in the 2nd half and the passing and movement on show was fantastic to watch. High Ercall had a few good chances towards the end of the game but our goalkeeper was also on fine form and made some great saves. Well done girls, a great way to finish girls football week.
Amazing News – Grange Park Primary School have been awarded the School Games Gold Award for the 2nd year running.
The award is based on the PE and school sport that we offer to children in Key Stage 2 for the academic year 2015/2016.
Thank you to all the children that have represented the school sports teams over the years and to the parents for their fantastic support. The children give their all at every event and whether we win or lose, their behaviour and attitude towards sport is amazing.
Well done #TeamGP
Well done to the Year 3/4 children that tonight represented the school football team and played against HLC. It was great to give the experience of a match to some of the boys that had never played in a competitive football match before tonight. Whether we win or lose, we always celebrate our performances and are extremely proud of every player tonight. They supported and encouraged each other throughout the whole match and the game was a lot closer than the full time result suggests. The boys eventually lost 8-2 but the score was only 2-1 at half time and if anything Grange Park had the better chances in the first half. As the second half went on our boys started to look tired and struggled to get up and down on the big pitch, which left our captain Ben on his own at the back against 4 attackers at times. The boys really couldn’t of given any more and it was so nice to see them come off the pitch with big smiles on their faces and complementing each other on their performances. Well done boys #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 5/6 football team that tonight played their first league match of the season against local rivals Windmill Primary School.
Grange Park had some great chances early on but we couldn’t get past the Windmill goalkeeper that pulled off some great saves to keep the game at 0-0. Windmill then had the chance of the first 10 minutes when their striker was one on one with our goalkeeper, but our keeper was very brave and made a great diving save at the striker’s feet to win the ball back. Not long after Grange Park finally took the lead with an absolutely stunning volley into the top corner after a great bit of passing football from the team. The game remained 1-0 for most of the first half until Grange Park got another 2 late goals before the break.
We then got off to flyer in the 2nd half, scoring 3 goals in a matter of minutes. The 5th goal was a joy to watch with nearly every Grange Park player passing the ball around the pitch before it was finally tapped in for an open goal. The boys gave 100% and we were extremely proud that despite the big score line they continued to work as a team and didn’t just try to score for themselves.
Grange Park won the match 11-1
Well done boys
Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that tonight qualified to the next stage of the English Schools Football Association tournament. The girls played some absolutely stunning football tonight and fully deserved both their wins. The girls played two matches and won 1-0 and 2-0. It was like watching a mini Barcelona team that kept possession so well and hardly gave their opponents a touch of the ball. The next round will be a lot tougher and our girls are looking forward to stepping up to the challenge. Special mention to our goalkeeper that stepped in last minute today and did a great job. The date for the next round will be released soon. Well done again girls, definitely performance of the season so far #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that tonight drew 0-0 against a very good Meadows Primary School team. This was the first game of the season for half the team and the first ever competitive game for two of our team. We got off to a nervous start with our goalkeeper making 5 brilliant saves to keep us in the game but it wasn’t long before the girls settled their nerves and started to play some really nice football. The girls held their shape brilliantly in the second half and the game went really tight with neither team really getting any clear cut chances in the second half. Despite the scoreline being 0-0 the game was anything but boring and the girls should be really proud of their performance. Well done to the more experienced girls that helped the less experienced girls through the game and were offering advice and encouragement throughout.
