This will involve every child taking part in 6 fun activities with scores being recorded. The results will then be announced at the end of year sports assembly. Children will need to bring their school PE kits in on the dates below for their classes:

Congratulations to Ava from Year 3 that last night signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers U10 Girls Regional Talent Club. Ava has worked so hard this season for both the Grange Park Primary School football team and AFC Telford United and fully deserves her reward of being to picked to play for such a big club. Ava only started playing football under a year ago and has improved massively in such a short time, it proves that hard work and dedication pays off. The fact she has been selected to play for an U10 team when she will only be U9 next season is amazing. Well done again Ava, we are all extremely proud of your achievement at #TeamGP

Completed the Double

Completed the Double

Well done to our Year 5/6 football team that tonight completed the double by winning the Meadows Cup. The boys had some of the toughest matches they’ve had all season tonight and had to come back from behind in two of the games to get points. This showed what great character the boys have to not give up despite going behind. The last match of the night was the decider that the boys had to win to secure the trophy. Despite dominating the first half, the boys were 1-0 after our opponents scored on the break. It didn’t last long though with Grange Park scoring within 30 seconds of the restart. We continued where we left off but with our opposing goalkeeper being on great form it looked like the game was going to be a draw. With only 2 minutes left though we scored a great team goal and then it was all about stopping our opponents. In the last few seconds our opponents had a corner and threw everyone forward and it looked as though they had scored until Kai popped up out of nowhere to stab the ball off the line. This was a great achievement for our boys especially as our captain was missing tonight. The boys were determined to match the girls football teams result from last week. Well done again boys.

Year 5/6 Football Festival

Year 5/6 Football Festival

Well done to our Year 5/6 Football Team that today took part in the St Georges Inclusive Football Festival. The boys had a fantastic morning and put in some great performances. It was lovely to hear how encouring our boys were to each other and what great sports they were throughout the event. We scored some great goals, made some amazing saves, put in some brave tackles and passed the ball around lovely. All the children involved today were an absolute credit to their schools and the tournament was played in the right spirit, competitve but fun. Well done again boys #TeamGP

Retaining Champions

Retaining Champions

Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that tonight retained the Meadows Cup in style winning 3 matches and drawing 1. The girls had some tough competition today and the warm conditions made it even harder. I think the girls will be the first to admit we didn’t play as well as we have been all season and struggled to get our passing style of play going. Its the mark of a great team to still win when not being at our best. The girls won their first match 3-0, drew their second match 0-0 and then won their last two games 4-0 and 5-0. Matches were stopped if the goal difference went to +5 in a game but we decided to take a few players off and continue to play the match, which then finished 6-1. When the girls started to pass and move as a team, they were an absolute pleasure to watch. Well done again girls.
