Through to the Final

Through to the Final

Well done to our Year 6 girls football team that put in some amazing performances tonight in the ESFA Shropshire tournament. The girls have secured their place in the final winning all 3 matches with scores of 2-0, 2-0 and 1-0. The girls get stronger every match and the passing was such a delight to watch tonight and we scored some outstanding team goals. Our defence was as solid as ever, the one time the ball did sneak through our goalkeeper was on her toes to collect it up. Special mention to Ellie that got a whack in the face from a ball tonight in the final game. Ellie carried on playing and we didn’t even notice she had a nose bleed until the referee stopped the match because she just carried on playing. A real battler . The girls now play in the finals in November #TeamGP

Year 5/6 Girls Friendly

Year 5/6 Girls Friendly

Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that tonight drew 2-2 with Hollinswood Primary School. It was a brilliant end to end game to watch and a draw was a fair result. This was the first game of the season for 6 of the girls but you wouldn’t of guessed this because their performance was so good. Well done girls #TeamGP

Year 3/4 Friendly

Year 3/4 Friendly

Well done to our Year 3/4 football team that tonight played against Hollinswood Primary School. This was the first time any of our team had played in a competitive match and we were playing against Hollinswood A team so we knew it was going to be a tough match. It took our boys a while to get into the game but they improved throughout and playing with a lot more confidence towards the end of the match. One thing that impressed me the most tonight was when the team went a few goals behind they didn’t give up or start moaning at each other, they just picked themselves up and got ready to go again. Very proud of every player tonight and the encouragement they showed for each other #TeamGP

The results are in ……

Well done to our Year 5/6 Indoor Athletics team that yesterday won the cluster tournament. The trophy has been delivered this morning and presented to the children in assembly by Mr Thorpe. Our fantastic results from the event can be seen below. We now have the T&W competition to look forward to and train for after half term.

p.s The girl on the front row isn’t sitting on another child’s lap, its an optical illusion because they are both wearing the same type of trainers

Year 5/6 Friendly

Year 5/6 Friendly

Well done to the Year 5/6 football team that tonight played against Hollinswood. The boys played some brilliant football and played with a smile on their faces throughout. This was the first time 4 of these boys had ever played in a football match and they did brilliant. They must of enjoyed it because as soon as they came off the pitch they were asking when their next match would be. The final score was 7-2 to Hollinswood. We now have the girls match against Hollinswood tomorrow to look forward to, where we will be giving some more children the experience of playing in a match for the first time. Well done again #TeamGP

Absolutely soaked

Absolutely soaked

Well done to our Year 5/6 inclusive football team that tonight played and got drenched against Redhill Primary School. As the game was an inclusive match the score wasn’t recorded but the boys put in an absolutely fantastic team performance and we couldn’t be any prouder of them. Considering this was the first time most of these boys had ever played in a competitive football match they played so well and worked very hard for the 40 minutes. The goalkeeper, defence and midfield were extremely solid as a unit and our striker was on fire. Well played again boys, very very proud of you all #TeamGP

Through to the next round

Through to the next round

Well done to our Year 5/6 boys football team that tonight qualified to the next round of the T&W cup. The pitches were short and narrow tonight which doesn’t really suit our style of play as it made it difficult to pass and move in such a crowded space. The boys were unbeaten tonight though drawing the first match 0-0 and winning the next two matches 3-1. They now move into the knockout stage of the competition that will be played after Christmas. This team has massive potential and will only get better the more they play and train together. Well done again boys, lots to work on in training in the coming months #TeamGP

Great Effort

Great Effort

Great effort by our Year 5/6 B team that tonight narrowly lost 5-2 to John Fletcher’s A team. The game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests and Grange Park probably had more chances to score in the game than our opponents but we struggled to hit the target tonight. It was a great end to end game to watch and our boys as always have their all. Well done again boys, you have improved so much already this season #TeamGP
