Well done to our Year 5/6 Netball team that tonight competed in the T&W netball finals. The team had to play two group matches and the team that finished top of the group went through to the final. The first game was against Redhill and the game was end to end with both teams having lots of chances to score. After the 2nd third the game was locked at 1-1 but Redhill scored early in the final third to take a 2-1 lead. Grange Park never gave up though and soon the match was back level at 2-2. Then with the final throw of the match Redhill scored to win 3-2. It was always going to be difficult against a good team but this was made even harder when one of their players got injured so their defender who looked near enough impossible to get past played in DF for the 2nd and 3rd third instead of rotating. This meant we had to try and compete for 2nd place in the group. Grange Park got off to a flying start and were 4-0 against Newport after the first third. The 2nd and 3rd third were a lot closer and the final was 6-3. This meant Grange Park were through to the 3rd vs 4th play off against Apley Wood. This game was another close one but Grange Park ended up winning 2-1 to finish the tournament in 3rd place. An absolutely amazing achievement. Well done #TeamGP
We are proud to announce that after this mornings Kwik Cricket Competition, we checked our school sport participation data and at Grange Park we have already had over 150 different children represent a sports team this year. Thank you to all the parents/carers that let their children represent the school and for transporting their children all around Shropshire to take part. We hope to have over 250 children represent a #TeamGP team by the end of the school year.
Well done to our Year 4 Cricket Team that competed in the Telford & Wrekin tournament this morning. This was the first time any of our children had taken part in a kwik cricket competition and we had a few nervous children on the way but they were absolutely amazing throughout the whole event. We finished 2nd in our group and just missed out on qualifying to the semi finals by a few runs. The children all said they had a fantastic time and can’t wait to play again. We couldn’t be any prouder of you all #TeamGP
Amazing performance from our Year 3/4 girls football team that tonight qualified to the next stage of the Shropshire Schools County Cup. The girls played 3 matches, winning two 1-0 and drawing the other match 1-1. The girls were absolutely amazing in all 3 of the matches and they had to be on the top of their games tonight because we played some very strong teams.
Couldn’t be any prouder of the girls and their determination tonight.
Unfortunately all the team aren’t in the picture #TeamGP
Well done to our 3 teams that competed in the T&W Boccia competition this afternoon. All 3 of our teams were amazing but have to give special mention to GP Team 3 that won their group and then went on to win another 3 matches to be crowned the T&W champions. Over 30 teams entered the event today. GP Team 3 will now represent T&W in the County Finals next year. GP team 1 were very unlucky not win their final match and GP Team 2 finished joint top of their group but missed out on going through to the quart finals on points difference by just 1 point. Very proud of all our teams this afternoon #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that have won the Cluster League for the 2nd year in a row with a game still left to play. The girls have improved so much throughout the league and have put in some truly outstanding performances #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that tonight won their league match against Meadows Primary School 10-2. The game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests and was 1-1 for a long period of the first half. It was also great to give some of the girls their first chance to play for the team in a match this season and they all impressed. The passing and movement was an absolute joy to watch #TeamGP
Well done to our Grange Park New Age Kurling team that won the cluster event yesterday. The results were sent to Mr James last night and they couldn’t have been any closer. Grange Park team two won the individual team competition and Grange Park also won the whole team award. Well done #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 3/4 football team that tonight played in the Shropshire County Cup. The team were in a tough group but put in some great defensive displays through out the tournament. We drew two games 0-0 and lost the other match 1-0 but were very unlucky not to draw this match as we had a couple of good chances to score ourselves. Lots learnt from tonight and we’ll bounce back #TeamGP
Great write up in today’s Telford Journal about our recent Telford & Wrekin Indoor Athletics win #TeamGP #Progression #NeverGiveUp #FutureStars
