Well done to our Year 3/4 girls football team that played a friendly against Redhill tonight. It took our girls a while to adapt to the big pitch and we found ourselves 3-0 within 10 minutes. The girls never gave up though and managed to keep the score to 3-0 coming in at half time. At half time we talked about how to adapt to a big pitch and we needed to squeeze in a bit more and not play so wide and the 2nd half was a totally different game. We had a few clear chances early on but their keeper seemed unbeatable at times. We finally scored with 5 minutes left and kept the pressure on but couldn’t get that next goal. The final score was 3-1 to Redhill. So proud of our girls for not giving up tonight, many teams would of given up after going 3-0 down so early but our girls showed great character to keep battling right to the end. Well done to the girls that played their first game of the year tonight, you did a great job. Special mention to our brick wall of a defence, defending isn’t always the most glamorous of roles but you two were absolutely superb again tonight. We have learnt more tonight than we have from our previous 3 wins. We will bounce back stronger #TeamGP
Well done to our girls football team that had to play in some very tricky conditions tonight against St Lukes. The muddy pitch didn’t stop our girls though and they won 7-2. For most of the girls this was only the first or 2nd time they had played for the school team this year. Special mention to Ava and Ruby that stepped in last minute when two other girls had to drop out, we couldn’t of done it without you. Also thank you to your parents for letting you play. Well done again girls #TeamGP #PlayInAnyConditions
Well done to our Year 5/6 girls football team that tonight won 7-0 against Donnington Wood Junior School. The game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests, but our defence and goalkeeper were on top form to keep our clean sheet. This is only the second time some of the girls had ever represented our girls football team, but you would never of guessed after the fantastic team display they put on. Well done again girls #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 5/6 Basketball team that finished joint 7th at today’s basketball competition. All the games were so close and with a bit more luck with our shooting, we could of got to the final. Thank you to Mr Dunn for training the team for this competition. Results – 3-2 Loss, 3-0 Win, 3-2 Loss and 1-1 Draw. These results show how close all our games were today #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 3/4 girls football team that bounced back from 1-0 down to win 7-1 tonight in their first league match of the season. The girls are improving every game and are working so hard as a team #BrightFuture #PassAndMove #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 2 Cricket team that had a fantastic morning at the Telford & Wrekin Sports Partnership and Shropshire Cricket festival playing Jamaican Street Cricket. The children improved so much after narrowly losing their first game, winning their next 3 matches. But the main thing is, they all had fun trying a new sport. #TeamGP #Cricket #Shropshire
Well done to our archery team that finished high enough at yesterday’s competition to qualify for the Shropshire County finals later in the year. Well done #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 6 girls football team that tonight won 3-1 against a very good Ladygrove team. Tonight was the first time our girls had gone a goal behind in a match in over 2 years but they showed what a great team they are to bounce back and score 3 to win the match. It took the girls a while to adjust to the extremely wide pitch and this restricted our chances. We must of had at least 15 Corners in the first half but the pitch was so wide we struggled to get it any where near our opponents goal from these. Well done again girls, super proud as always.
P.S Mr Thorpe must be our lucky charm as we were losing 1-0 and within 3 minutes of Mr Thorpe arriving we were winning 3-1.
It literally takes 10 seconds.
We’ve slipped to 2nd place now.
