Year 3/4 Cup Final

Year 3/4 Cup Final

Well done to both our Year 3/4 girls football teams that today competed in the T&W Cup. Both teams did fantastic and were an absolute credit to the school.

Grange Park Team 1 (Blue Team) were a mix of girls that had played for the school before and girls that were playing for their first ever time. Mr Dunn said that the girls in Team 1 had done so well throughout the afternoon and improved massively from their first match. All their matches were extremely close and they even beat a team that qualified to the quarter finals. That shows how close their group was.

Team 2 (Grey Team) also had a tough group and knew they would have to be at their best today to get through their group to the knock out stage. Team two topped their group though scoring 11 and conceding 0 to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

The girls then played Newdale Primary School and got off to a flyer scoring 2 goals within 3 minutes and the game ended up 3-0. This meant the girls were through to the semi-finals and we found out we had to play another unbeaten team Newport Primary School that had won their quarter final 3-0.

Again the girls were on fire and scored straight from kick off and continued to dominate the game and eventually won 5-0! This means the Year 3/4 girls football team are through to the final of the T&W Cup and will play at the Bucks Head Stadium in May. The team has improved so much this season and fully deserves to be in the final where we face a tough test against our friendly rivals Redhill Primary School.

Well done to both teams today, we couldn’t be any prouder.
