We are pleased to announce that Grange Park Primary School has won the Shropshire Primary PE & Sport Premium ‘Physical activity & health enhancing initiatives’ Award 2018. We won the award for our girls football leagues that we organise for Telford & Wrekin schools and also for our increase in participation of children competing at both District and County level from Grange Park. We’ve had over 180 different children represent a Grange Park sports team this academic year and have lots more events planned for next half term. We would like to thank all the staff that make these events possible, the parents for allowing their children to represent Grange Park and the children for always representing our school with pride and doing their best. We will now represent Shropshire at the West Midlands Regional awards #TeamGP
Unfortunately due to the news regarding our school field, we won’t be able to hold a traditional Sports Day this year at Grange Park. Instead Mr James will be running a Intra School Multi Skills Competition. This will involve every child In years 1-6 taking part in 6 fun sports activities with scores being recorded. The results will then be announced at the end of year sports assembly. We will have individual and team winners. Unfortunately parents wont be able to attend the fun activities because of not having the space without the field. We know this is disappointing but the children having some sort of sports day is our priority.
We will also organise a fun sports event for our reception children.
Unfortunately despite our school field looking amazing over the last couple of months, it failed the inspection 2 weeks ago and needs further work before we can start using it. The field was worked on over the weekend and has been cut, sanded and seeded again. Although this wasn’t the news we wanted, it will be worth it when its complete.
Well done to our Year 6 girls football team that tonight won the T&W Cup with an absolute faultless performance. The girls were amazing from the very first minute to the last. Our goalkeeper was fantastic when called upon and made an amazingly brave save at the beginning of the first half, our defence was solid at the back as usual, our midfielders were as creature as ever but had the work ethic to go with their ability and our strikers were deadly in front of goal. A perfect team that fully deserved their win. Well done #TeamGP
So proud of our Year 3/4 girls football team that lost 3-1 in tonight’s cup final. The girls were up against a very strong Redhill team but our girls matched them all the way and nearly made the match 2-2 with a minute left but the ball bobbled up with our striker through 1 on 1. Redhill then went up the other end and scored with the last kick of the game. The girls attitude throughout the match was outstanding and the fact they never gave up when being 2-0 down at half time shows their amazing character and determination. They gave their all and that’s all we ever ask for and they will bounce back stronger from this defeat. Well done girls #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 3/4 Tennis team that competed in the T&W competition this morning. The team did amazing all morning and only missed out on topping their group by a few points. This meant unfortunately they wouldn’t go through to the finals, but they did win their last match of the morning with an impressive 34 – 12 score. Well done #TeamGP
