Well done to our Year 5 girls football team that had a great morning at the Year 5/6 Crossbar Cup. The girls drew 2 matches and lost 3 which unfortunately meant they didn’t qualify for the next round of the cup but they all had a great time and were improving with every game. One the matches they drew was against a team that didn’t lose a single match in the league. We don’t normally mention individual goal scorers because it’s a team game but we want to give special mention to Alexa for scoring her first ever goal after Amelie had dribbled the ball the whole length of the pitch before passing it. Well done again girls #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 3/4 football team that tonight took part in the Meadows cup. The team was a mix of boys that play regular football and 4 boys that were playing their first ever competitive football match. The team drew their first game 0-0 despite having lots of opportunities to win the match. The 2nd match was more end to end and despite us having chances ourselves to score, our opponents scored 2 well worked goals to win the match 2-0. We knew our toughest match was yet to come when we were up against Meadows that had won both their previous games convincingly. The boys went 2-0 down early on in the game but showed great team spirit to get the game back to 2-2. Meadows then scored with only a minute left but our boys never gave up and carried on trying their best right to the end. What was most impressive today though was how our boys supported each other and encouraged the boys that were playing for the first time. Also well done to Mr Dunn for managing the team tonight so Mr James could referee the games. Well done #TeamGP
Thank you to Harry Cade from @EnergizeCSP for dropping off our recent @stwschoolgames award for the Physical Activity and Health-Enhancing Activities we organise at Grange Park: https://energizestw.org.uk/double-delight-for-shropshire-primary-schools/
We would again like to thank all the staff that make these events possible, the parents for allowing their children to represent Grange Park and the children for always representing our school with pride and doing their best.
Well done to our Year 5/6 football team that today visited the amazing Lilleshall Sports Centre to take part in the Crossbar Cup. Unfortunately the boys lost in the semi final of the plate competition in extra time but they all had a great time playing #TeamGP
Well done to our four Year 3/4 children that this afternoon took part in the Telford & Wrekin Mini Olympics Festival. The children were teamed up with other schools and had to take part in 8 different activities. They all had a great time and arrived back at school very tired and sweaty #TeamGP
Well done to the ten year 1/2 children that this morning took part in the T&W Mini Olympics Festival at Telford Tennis Centre. The children had a fantastic time taking part in 10 different events including Tennis, Football, Golf, Parachute Games, Speed Bounce, Throwing Activities and more. The children represented Grange Park amazingly. Well done #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 5/6 athletics team that this afternoon won the T&W Athletics Championship held at Oakengates Athletics track.
The team competed against 24 other schools in the following events – 80m, 150m, 600m, 800m, 400m Relay, cricket/rounders ball throw and standing long jump. The children won lots of individual medals but for the first time in our schools history, we also won the overall team championship.
The competition was extremely good again this year and we knew the scores would be close, but we were blown away when it was announced we had won.
Mrs Kenny also said ”how fantastic it was to see the real team spirit and support we have at Grange Park for each other in our sports teams, whether someone won their event or not, all the children clapped them back in and said well done.” That’s worth more than any award.
Proud of every single team member today, not just for their performance, but for their team spirit and sportsmanship.
Thank you so much to @KEPPrintGroup for sending us 8 World Cup Wallcharts to display in all our KS2 classrooms. The children were very excited and cheering when I delivered them this morning #TeamGP #TeamKEP #WorldCupWallchart #ComeOnEngland #England
This afternoon we were sent the overall top 10 results for each age group and gender for this year’s T&W Cross Country events. We are pleased to announce that we had a child in the top 10 and that was Chloe O’Reilly who finished 7th in her age and gender category. Well done Chloe and well done to everyone that took part this year #TeamGP
Well done to our Year 3/4 girls football team that won their Champions League match against Muxton Primary School 6-0 tonight. This was probably the best performance from our girls all year and they fully deserved the win. Muxton are a very good team and our defence and goalkeeper were on top form to keep them out and our midfielders and attackers worked their socks off to get the goals. The girls have 2 more matches left to play in the Champions League #TeamGP
