Year 3/4 Champions League

Year 3/4 Champions League

Well done to our Year 3/4 girls football team that were tonight crowned the T&W Champions League Champions. The girls had to win 5 games just to get to this stage and then they were unbeaten tonight playing 3 and winning all 3. As this was the final stage, we knew it would be tough against the best teams from the league’s coming together for tonight’s tournament including Redhill who recently beat us in the cup final. The girls were determined to finish the season on a high and they put in 3 amazing team performances. The girls won their first match 1-0 against Muxton in a tough end to end game and we even managed a last second goal line clearance to secure the win. The next match was the big one, Redhill recently beat us in the Cup Final at the Bucks Head Stadium but our girls were confident they could win if they played to the best of their ability. They really upped their game and ended up winning this match 4-1, special mention to Naomi that scored a worldy straight from the corner. This meant the girls only had to draw their last match to win the tournament but they were never going to play for the draw and ended up winning their last match 3-0 against Hollinswood. The whole team were absolutely amazing in every game but our defence and goalkeeper really were like a brick wall again tonight. Well done girls, you never let the cup final defeat get to you and you bounced back in the perfect way #TeamGP

Year 3/4 Girls Meadows Cup

Year 3/4 Girls Meadows Cup

Well done to our Year 3/4 girls football team that tonight won the Meadows Cup. The competition tonight was extremely tough with every result being close. The girls results were Grange Park 1-0 John Fletcher, Grange Park 0-0 Hollinswood and Grange Park 1-0 Meadows. Our goalkeeper made an amazing save against Meadows when the game was 0-0 and they looked certain to score. The girls were a bit rusty tonight after having a long break but it wasn’t long until they got back to their best passing and moving style. The girls even played Short Wood boys in a friendly at the end and drew 0-0. #TeamGP

Year 5/6 Girls Meadows Cup

Year 5/6 Girls Meadows Cup

Well done to our Year 6 girls football team that tonight won the Meadows Cup. The girls put in some fantastic team performances in their 3 matches winning 4-0, 3-0 and finishing off with another 3-0. These girls have come on so far since starting to play football at the beginning of year 3 and they still improve every match. Today was the last match this group of girls will play together for Grange Park and they wore the same kit they wore for their first ever match. Well done #TeamGP
