KS2 Cross Country

We have just received the details for this year’s KS2 Telford & Wrekin Cross Country Competition.

The cross country events are incredibly good fun with hundreds of children from across Telford & Wrekin coming together to take part in the run. All children are welcome to attend regardless of ability; in previous years we have had children finish in the top 10, the top 30 and even in the 100’s. The children strive to do better than they did the previous race, whether that is simply to run for the whole of the course or to stay with the hares who lead the way.

The events will take place on:

Wednesday 25th March – Telford Town Park

Wednesday 1st April – Chetwynd Deer Park, situated on B5062 between Edgmond and Newport

Wednesday 22nd April– Telford Town Park

If your child would like to take part in this event, please tell them to get a letter from Mr James or Miss Rance. This information will also be sent out on ParentPay but your child will need to let one of the above members of staff know if they want to take part.

House points will be awarded to every child that takes part in a race.
The running order for the races is: Year 4 girls, Year 4 boys, Year 3 girls, Year 3 boys, Year 5 girls, Year 5 boys, Year 6 girls and then the Year 6 boys last. The first race (Year 4 girls) starts at 4.30pm and the last race finishes about 5.45pm.

Each child that takes part in the event will be given their own #TeamGP bib with their running number attached.

It has also been fantastic to see so many of our children attend the Telford Junior Park Run on Sunday mornings recently. It’s a free event that takes place at Telford Town Park every Sunday morning at 10am. It would be great to see even more #TeamGP children attend and this would be great practice for the cross country races.
