Well done to our amazing Year 3/4 Tri Golf team that today won the Telford and Wrekin Tri Golf tournament. We competed against 15 other schools at the Telford Tennis Centre and the standard was very high. The team had put in a great effort at training last Friday, yesterday and even at home over the weekend. Grange Park will now represent Telford and Wrekin at the upcoming Shropshire Summer Games 2016. Special mention to the two children that stepped in last week to attend the training sessions and compete today because unfortuantely two of the original team couldn’t attend.
Well done #TeamGP another fantastic team performance
Well done to the 7 Grange Park girls that represented Telford & Wrekin at the Shropshire County Games 2016 today at the Shrewsbury Sports Village. Our girls put in some fantastic performances throughout the morning and only narrowly missed out on winning, finishing 2nd to a very good Brown Clee School Team. The girls got off to a fantastic start in the relay races winning the 1st race and then finishing 2nd in the next two. This put our girls in a great position going into the field events. Our field events couldn’t have gone much better with our girls winning 4 out of the 5 available and still recording good scores on the event we didn’t win. We then went on to the final relay races of the day knowing a good finish in these events would mean the girls getting gold. The girls were so determined and gave their all but sadly we fell slightly short in these races finishing 4th in both. That meant the scores would be extremely close between ourselves and Brown Clee and unfortunately for us, Brown Clee were announced as the girls champions with our girls finishing second. Our girls were a little downhearted but again they showed great character to clap for the winning team. I cant be any prouder of these girls for all the hard work they have put in, not just for this event but for the run up to the Telford & Wrekin competition. 2nd place out of over 200 schools in Shropshire is a fantastic achievement and although the girls would of loved a medal, I’m sure they are proud of what they have achieved as a team. Well done girls.
